How to set up a coffee bar at home
By Carla Snuggs
If you are a coffee fiend like me, coffee plays an important role in your everyday life. So, why not set aside space in your home for a beautiful coffee bar where everything is easily accessible?
I am currently working on setting up a stylish coffee station that will meet my everyday needs and will also look great for entertaining. I have been scouring the internet for some of the best DIY coffee stations for inspiration. Here are some some of my favorite coffee bars from around the web:
Here are some things you need to set up a stylish coffee station at home.
Coffee Mugs
An important component of any cool coffee bar is a great mug! Elise Green's Carpe Diem Mugs are a very nice thing to wake up to. I love these mugs handmade by artist, Alex Marshall in her Corning, CA studio. Choose from "Hello Gorgeous; "Good Morning, Beautiful;" "I Love You;" "I Love You Too;" "Hey Handsome;" "Good Morning Sunshine;" "I Do;" or "I Do Too".
Coffee Maker
I have several coffee makers - some pour-over coffee systems and others are automatic, like my Nespresso machine. I love my french press, my Hario v6 and my Chemex. Pour-Over coffeemakers are a great way to go when you want a beautiful cup of joe. Scroll down for instructions for making the perfect pour-over.
If you choose to go with an automatic coffee maker, I suggest the The BELLA Triple Brew Coffee Maker. It helps you save space because you can brew a 12-cup carafe of coffee AND a single-serve K-Cup OR single serve ground coffee at the same time!
The single serve function allows you to brew a 6oz, 10oz, 15oz cup of coffee, and the coffee actually comes out hot, unlike the leading brand. The adjustable height drip tray accommodates travel mugs & cups and is removable for easy cleaning. The 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker has a brew strength selector: Regular, Gourmet or Bold. It really delivers a high-quality, customized brew.
Coffee
Then, of course, you need fabulous coffee! I always have regular and flavored coffee on hand. I find that guests love the flavored coffee, I like to stick to the basics.
I recently discovered Melitta coffees! I am loving their Enchanted Evening. It's a boldly complex coffee - Rich, smooth flavor with a deep intense finish. It's USDA Organic, Fair Trade Certified, 100% High Grown Arabica Beans.
