It’s hard to have a gift guide without wine suggestions from one of my faves, Trinchero Family Estates. They have best affordable wines and that are always great for gift giving and to present as hostess gifts.
My suggestions:
Pomelo Sauvignon Blanc : Aromas of fragrant white blossoms lead to white peach, melon and ripe citrus on the palate complemented by a lovely lemon curd finish.
Napa Cellars Chardonnay: Flavors of pear, crème fraiche, and pie crust are complimented by a creamy texture with balanced acidity and a nice, lingering finish of crème brulee and white peach. This is the perfect wine to pair with a Camembert French cheese plate drizzled with local honey and almond halves, or with panna cotta topped with fresh berries for dessert.
Terra d'Oro Zinfandel: displays the classic characteristics unique to this region. Enticing aromas of clove, cracked pepper, black cherry, smoke, violets, licorice, black olive and sage lead to an elegant entry of cherry and licorice on the palate.
My personal favorite: Taken Red Blend: This powerful wine boasts copious amounts of ripe red fruit, blueberry and plum. Dark chocolate and tastefully integrated oak add complexity to the full-bodied mouthfeel, while the texture and flavors linger on the palate for a good 30 seconds after enjoying.
