Remember Florence Welch's red carpet look at the 2016 Grammys? It was natural and glowing and certainly not to be forgotten. Posh Beauty Blog has sourced celebrity makeup artist Lisa Ahoron and Celebrity hairstylist Ryan Richman to find out how to recreate the look step by by step!
Skincare and Makeup Tutorial
Celebrity Makeup Artist, Lisa Aharon, created Florence Welch’s 2016 Grammy Awards look with the help of Burt’s Bees. Aharon shares how to get Florence Welch’s red carpet look.
Step 1: Aharon first began by prepping Florence’s skin with Burt’s Bees Repair Serum, to instantly revive her skin. She then used Burt’s Bees Garden Tomato Toner to cleanse Florence’s skin.
Step 2: In terms of hydration, Aharon combined the Burt’s Bees Repair Serum with Burt’s Bees Sensitive Daily Moisturizing Cream for light moisture that’s less reflective on camera. Lastly, she provided a few dabs of the Burt’s Bees Brightening Eye Treatment to hydrate the delicate under areas to complete the skin preparation.
Step 3: For the lips Aharon began by scrubbing Florence's lips lightly with a Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleansing Towelette with Cotton Extract. This helped slough off any dead skin so that Burt’s Bees Ultra Conditioning Lip Balm with Kokum Butter would then be absorbed properly. This helped prepare the lips, so that lipstick would go on smoothly and evenly.
Step 4: To complete the lips, Aharon applied Burt’s Bees NEW Lipstick in Iced Iris as the perfect shade to complete her look.
Hair Tutorial
Celebrity hairstylist, Ryan Richman, created voluminous waves for Florence Welch’s 2016 Grammy Award’s look, with the help of KMS California products. Here, Ryan shares how to get Florance Welch’s red carpet look.
Step 1. Richman started by prepping damp hair with KMS California TAMEFRIZZ smoothing lotion for instant combability and frizz reduction, while protecting hair against heat. Then, he used a wide tooth comb to distribute the product evenly through the hair.
Step 2. Next, Richman used the Varis Creative Energy Blow Dryer to begin drying the bangs using a boar bristle brush to smooth the hair and brush the bangs from side to side until mostly dry, followed by drying the bangs straight down.
Step 3. Then, to dry the rest of her hair Richman used a medium boar bristle round brush and worked his way through the hair in 1” sections.
Step 4. To wave the hair Richman used a 1” Varis Creative Energy Flatiron taking 1” sections of the hair, starting at the base. He then closed the flatiron and bent the hair up and down while sliding the iron down each section. In order to hold the wave, he sprayed KMS California FREESHAPE 2-in-1 styling + finishing spray on each section as he worked.
Step 5. To finish the look, Richman used a dime size amount of KMS California HAIRPLAY messing creme and worked it through the hair with his hands, shaking the waves out to create a lived-in, second day hair style along with the KMS California SILKSHEEN polishing serum for shine and control on the ends.
