Planning the perfect girls’ day
Summer is the perfect time for a girls’ day. Life can become very busy, with various work and social commitments, and sometimes a full day with your best friends is the perfect way to de-stress and feel yourself again.
Whether there are two of you or ten of you, the following tips will help you plan a fun day that you will remember forever.
Travel
If you plan on heading out of your hometown for girls’ day to explore somewhere new or you all live on different sides of the country and are meeting somewhere in the middle, travelling by train could be the perfect option. Whether you are heading toward London or the coast, doing so by rail relieves the stress of having to navigate your way there. Plus, if you are all travelling together, the fun can start as soon as you get on the train. Why not bring a packed lunch or a bottle of bubbly to get the party started?
If you enjoy being spontaneous and your days tend to go on longer than you expect, purchase an open return ticket to avoid having to cut the fun short.
Activity
Now you have decided how you are going to travel to your location, you next need to decide what you are going to do for the majority of the day.
This will entirely depend on your group. It could be exciting to try something new such as puppy yoga, or if you have not seen each other in a long time, you might prefer something more lowkey.
Organising group activities can be challenging, especially if there are a lot of you. Creating a poll is an easy way to get around this. If possible, choose something that you can book in advance to avoid disappointment on the day.
Downtime
When planning a girls’ day, it can be tempting to create an itinerary that is jam-packed from start to finish. While this can sometimes work well, it can leave you all feeling exhausted. Therefore, it can work better to plan in some scheduled downtime throughout the day.
This could include grabbing a coffee or taking a rest in a local park. Doing this is guaranteed to make the day more enjoyable overall.
Next time
Getting together as a group can be difficult, especially as you get older. Trying to find a time when everyone is free in between work and various family duties can mean you often go months without seeing each other. Trying to make plans via text can also be tough, therefore if you can, plan your next girls’ day while you are all together.
It could even be worth downloading a shared calendar app to help make planning future occasions more seamless.
